Tour to continue in 2013

Brussels, Belgium, November 2012 – Tenneco today announced that during its first year of operation, the company’s innovative Tenneco On Tour roadshow for European workshop professionals and distributors has exceeded every expectation in terms of customer contact, in-market training and sales support. As a result of this success and based on demand from aftermarket customers, the company intends to continue the roadshow into 2013.

During 2012, Tenneco On Tour:

  • Covered more than 40.000 km and crossed more than 45 borders;
  • Staged 35 major events including venues at Tenneco manufacturing facilities;
  • Reached more than 10.000 workshop professionals;

Provided over 50.000 product and technology demonstrations;

  • Exposed at key industry events including Automechanika Frankfurt, EXPO AUTO MECÂNICA 2012 as well as key customer events:conventions, customer  shows & exhibitions.
  • Was exposed to an estimated 250.000 trade customers and consumers during its tour.

Housed in two highly sophisticated semi-trailers and multiple product demonstration areas, the “Tenneco On Tour” experience supports Monroe® and Walker® customers by reinforcing the importance of understanding today’s complex ride control, steering and suspension and emissions control systems and properly diagnosing wear. Each Tour event features a blend of hands-on product displays and multimedia modules designed for automotive professionals. Visitors also learn how Tenneco’s training programs, backed by aftermarket products that benefit from the company’s extensive original equipment (OE) expertise, can help workshops offer superior repair solutions for their customers.

“The primary goal of this innovative roadshow is to provide optimum support to our customers – the distributors and workshops – by delivering technical, marketing and sales information that will help make them more successful,” said Alex Gelbcke, vice president and general manager, Europe aftermarket. “Through Tenneco On Tour, we have established a new standard for in-market support with the objective of helping them position themselves for long-term growth in the independent aftermarket.”

As vehicle systems evolve in response to changing customer needs and increasingly demanding safety and environmental requirements, the ability to efficiently and accurately diagnose and repair critical safety and emission reduction components is a key competitive advantage for independent aftermarket workshops. Tenneco On Tour highlights a broad range of new vehicle technologies, reinforces the importance of using OE-quality replacement products from a trusted global manufacturer and complements Tenneco’s other training resources. These include diagnostic guides and posters, specialized tools and the in-depth training workshops presented through the company’s popular “4T” (Tenneco Train the Trainers) program which has reached more than 72.000 workshop professionals.

“During 2012, Tenneco On Tour has brought Tenneco brands, products, marketing and training directly to thousands of customers on a one-to-one basis, helping reinforce Tenneco’s commitment to total business support, product quality, technical assistance and compliance with all safety and emissions standards,” Gelbcke added.
